Do I qualify for the Boost Business Technology grant?

There are four qualifying criteria an organization must meet in order to apply:

Be incorporated federally or provincially, or be a Canadian resident sole proprietor.
Be a for-profit, privately owned business.
Have between 1 – 499 full time equivalent employees.
Have at least $500,000 of annual revenues in one of the previous three tax years.

Can I use the funding for technology purchases?

No, the grant is for strategic and advisory purposes. You can apply for $100,000 interest free loan to put towards technology acquisitions through CDAP.

Can my digital advisor submit my application?

No, an owner or director of the company must be the one who submits the application. Your advisor can support you with information on how to apply and answer any questions you have.

How do I access my funds?

Funds are reimbursed by the Government of Canada. Upon project completion, you can submit your invoices to claim back 90% of the total outlay, up to $15,000.

How long will it take to develop my plan?

Engagements can commence 3 weeks after signed contracts are received and last approximately 6-8 weeks depending on the agreement.

Who will I work with to develop a new digital plan?

A highly experienced digital expert who has developed successful strategies across a range of organizations and industries. They will lean on a team of people with strategic and technical backgrounds to cover every angle of your strategy.

Will Digital Llama execute on the strategy we develop?

While implementation is not covered by the Boost Youor Business Technology grant, our capabilities cover everything from advisory work to implementation, customization, and development services.

Having developed your strategic roadmap, we would be in an excellent position to lead your implementation. You can further benefit from the extensive knowledge our team can draw on from previous implementations, certifications and expertise across a range of platforms and relationships with technology providers.

Can I use my own digital advisor?

The Government of Canada has a list of approved digital advisors from which you can choose.

Can I apply for grants for each of my companies?

Yes, provided they each meet the requirements to apply. Separate applications must be filed by each entity in this case.

What if I’ve participated in similar government digital adoption programs, am I still eligible?

If you have accessed funding through the Programme Audit Industrie 4.0, Digital Boost 2.0 or the Digital Acceleration Pilot then you are not eligible for the Boost Your Business Technology grant. You may still qualify for a $100,000 interest free loan through BDC.

What is the funded work placement program?

Part of the Boost Your Business Technology grant, organizations can apply for a $7,300 wage subsidy to hire students or recent graduates to work on digital initiatives.
